Cathedral Chapel School WINS FIRST PLACE!
Archdiocesan Academic Junior High
Decathlon

Arena
On Saturday, March 15, 2008, the Academic Decathlon Team from
our school competed against over 100 Catholic elementary schools from the
Archdiocese of Los Angeles. We are happy to inform our school
community that our school won FIRST PLACE overall in the Archdiocese.
Our team placed fifth in Logic, ninth in Super Quiz, 5th in Fine Arts, 1st
in Current Events, 7th in Math, 2nd in Religion, and 6th in Grammar.
Special thanks to Mrs. Barbara Moldavon, Mr. Roman del Pozo, and Mr. Long
Pham who prepared our students for the competition. The decathletes
on our team this year are the following: Song-Yi Chun, Juan Chung,
Joseph Floyd, Robert Floyd, Fred Hong, Chris Ki, Andrew Kim, Earl Park, Sam
Park, Yohanes Shimelis, Flora Eun, and Marian Kim. This is the third
time that our school has won FIRST PLACE in the Archdiocese. Our
school won FIRST PLACE overall in 2002, 2005, and 2008. CCS also won
FIRST PLACE in the state in 2002! Our decathletes will spend the next
six weeks diligently preparing for the state competition which will take
place on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Mater Dei High School in San Diego.
Please pray for our coaches and our decathletes as they continue to study
for the next competition.
