The Class of 2019 Makes it to Pali in Big Bear

The 8th graders have begun their weekend of team building and hands-on learning in beautiful Big Bear at the Pali Institute. They were all smiles when they arrived at school on Friday with all their gear, even when they had to turn in their phones! This weekend is all about challenges, achieving goals, reflecting, and making real connections. They'll be hiking and zip-lining and working on character. School seems empty without them. God bless the class of 2019 and the courageous soul who made this all possible, the one and only Mr. Roman del Pozo.

Congratulations to Our Incredible Girls' Volleyball Team: Undefeated in League!

Our She Wolves gave their all this year and made it to round two of the play-offs. They played well throughout the season, but perhaps the most memorable games were the defeat of St. Brendan and the beautiful league championship win against Christ the King 2-0. Champions are a different breed than those of us who are mere mortals. This team wouldn't have been completely satisfied unless they'd gone all the way. Maybe that's what they'll do next year. They will certainly have the ingredients. Nine members of the team this year were 7th graders. They have a year to prepare. Best of all, we expect that our incredible coaching team will be back at the helm. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Morris. Your Chapel family couldn't be more proud of the team from their determination, to their poise, to their sportsmanship, to their hard work, to their teamwork-it's been amazing to see. Special thanks go to Annabel Manriquez for organizing the awesome pep rally Friday. God bless you all and thanks for all you give to CCS.

Chapel Give from their Hearts to their Soles for Socktoberfest!

On Friday, October 26th, our students filled bins with socks for a great cause: The Good Shepherd Center, the first shelter in Los Angeles dedicated to the needs of children and mothers who suffer from domestic violence. This drive was our first specifically focusing on socks for the center. It was the brainchild of our 8th grade student council rep. Eva Coleman. She introduced the idea and then worked throughout the drive to make it the success it was. Adriana Brady created the flyer that helped remind the school of our mission. We owe a special debt of gratitude to Eva and to the whole student council under the guidance of Mr. Long Pham for this wonderful opportunity to live the Gospel message in service and giving to others.

This Weekend's 2-0 Win over Christ the King Earns Chapel League Championship!!!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, our incredibly talented and hard-working girl's A volleyball team has done it again. They've made the CYO playoffs. "Thank-you," doesn't seem nearly enough when it comes to our amazing coaches, Mr. and Mrs. Morris. They don't just teach our girls how to win: they teach them the importance of good sportsmanship, the value of hard work, and the meaning of "team." We are blessed to have them at CCS. Congrats, Lady Wolves, and good luck in the play offs!

Our Lady Wolves End Week in Grand Style: 2-0 Win over St. Brendan School!

Friday, October 19th, was the last home game for this year's volleyball team. It was also a day to celebrate the 8th graders' commitment to this year's team. Parents and grandparents attended the rose celebration before the game. Adriana Brady, Alyssa Marquez, and Jade Jordan Ruiz each received a beautiful rose and were honored with a family picture. The team then did what they do best-they won big time against the school's arch rival St. Brendan School. The girls are on a mission to finish the season with a perfect, undefeated record. God bless our team and our incredible coaches. None of this would be possible without the dedication, guidance, generosity, and expertise of Mr. and Mrs. Morris.
