Chapel made history at the Las Colinas Speech Competition on May 19, 2016. For the first time ever, a 5th grader took first place in a major event: Congratulations Elizabeth Lo; she earned a 1st place in Theme. Our only 8th grade member this year, Christina Arguello, took home more awards from one event than any student in the history of our team. She earned a 1st in Dramatic, 2nd in Humorous, a Gold in Versatility, and a Perseverance Award for competing in over six different categories at events over the year. Maya Bryant (7th) earned a Bronze Versatility Award and also earned a Perseverance Award; she competed in five different categories over the course of this year's speech season. Adrianna Brady also earned a Perseverance Award. Patrick Holloway (6th) was awarded a certificate for his performance in Humorous. Congratulations to our incredible team and one great, big "THANK YOU!" you to our amazing speech coach, Mrs. Amber Aguirre.
