Welcome to Fifth Grade!
Greetings to the CSS Family!
My name is Mister Jibra’il Sutton, and I am serving as the 5th Grade homeroom teacher for Cathedral Chapel School. It is a pleasure to meet all of you! I’m originally from Queens, New York who moved to California in 2019. I received my bachelor's degree in History at Johnson C. Smith University in 2016. Upon graduation, I went to receive my Master’s Degree in the Art of Teaching from the University of Southern California in 2019.
My goal as the 5th Grade teacher is to develop each student to become lifelong learners. By teaching them how to be prepared, patient students who display positivity, politeness, and presence in the classroom. I enjoy using the students' Funds of Knowledge to make each lesson relevant to their daily life. This way, they will be incentivized to learn, and continue learning as they transition to middle school.
I am really looking forward to meeting each and everyone of you this upcoming school year. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me via email: [email protected].
